Shagwüf is a fierce, uncompromising trio with roots in Virginia & Argentina. With a
variety of influences in their arsenal including Latin beats, 60's era power pop,
gutter-glam and fuzzed out psychedelia, Shagwüf is ear-candy for the music lover. With
strong convictions on a variety of social issues, especially BLM and LGBTQIA rights,
Shagwüf consistently makes their case for a more inclusive and intersectional future.
BANGZZ:
BANGZZ is garage punk true to the riot grrrl era that dishes out loud and fast songs with in your
face feminist themes. Song titles include "Your Asian Fetish is Racist" "Your Boyfriend is Really
Bringing You Down" and "Don't Touch People" to name a few. Planting firm roots in the East
Coast Punk scene, the band began turning heads with their campy music videos and explosive
live shows while opening up for acts like Wednesday, Mannequin Pussy, Screaming Females,
The Gories, The HIRS Collective, Skating Polly, Soul Glo and more. Kathleen Hanna of Bikini
Kill, discovered the bandʼs ramen-encrusted music video for their single, “Hell is Other People”
and shared it on social media with the comment “Thank You” and said of the duo, “This is the
future and now colliding!” The band consists of Japanese American Guitarist, Vocalist and
songwriter, Erika Kobayashi Libero with drummer Jess Caesar. Originally from Tokyo and L.A.
respectively, the duo now call Durham, NC home and have been a force in reshaping and
redefining the music scene in NC.
